Sure, you could show up to class at Penn State, pull all-nighters teaching yourself the material, and cross your fingers for an A.
But at LionTutors, we have a saying: “We can teach you in 3–4 hours what would take you several days to study on your own.”
This is what sets us apart as the most trusted tutoring service for Penn State students since 2008. Over the years, LionTutors has become a nostalgic staple of the PSU experience. Ask any Penn State alum, and chances are they love LionTutors.
Our History
Over 15 years ago, our founders, Josh, Sarah, and Shai, started LionTutors to help students tackle their most challenging classes in math, science, business, and beyond.
Our 3–4 hour exam reviews became more than just study sessions—they became social experiences, often with 200+ students in attendance. Groups of friends turned exam prep into something a little less miserable, thanks to our tutors’ fun (and sometimes rough-around-the-edges) teaching style. Our iconic green review materials could be seen from a mile away in the library, helping students power through their final push before exam day.

Adapting to a New Era
Post-Covid, things look a lot different for LionTutors. When the world shut down in 2020, we stayed dedicated to helping students earn A’s. For the first time, we launched an online platform, allowing students to study with us from home.
What we learned? Students love our online learning experience. And we give the people what they want.
LionTutors Today
We’ve officially reimagined LionTutors as an asynchronous tutoring business—letting you pause, rewind, speed up, or slow down. Whether it’s from the comfort of your dorm room bed, hunkered down in the library, or back in your hometown, you can study with LionTutors anywhere.
Our experienced tutors have been doing this for so long that they’re able to predict the questions you’re likely to have, and you’ll have constant access to their support via email. And if that’s not enough, we also offer private, real-time tutoring sessions.
For those who prefer pen-to-paper, our iconic green review materials are still available for pickup at our downtown location. They’re the perfect way to follow along with the tutor and get the most out of every review.
